DO - What We Value

Respect Others

  • Respect others' race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, place of origin, class, religion, age, and experience level
  • Include everyone as best you can
  • Ask permission before recording, posting, or sharing any footage of other people
  • Respect personal space
  • Back off when someone tells you no
  • Be considerate of others' comfort
  • Be careful with others' belongings
  • Make it up to others if you damage something of theirs (including by replacing it)
  • Be mindful of what you say in a public and diverse space of adults

Respect the Game

  • Be patient with other players
  • Take a reasonable amount of time on your turn
  • Take time to calm down if you need it

Respect the Room

  • Be considerate of other people and other games when using space in the room
  • Respect coffeehouse property
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Help us clean up at the end of the night

Don't Disrespect Others

  • Exclude others
  • Talk over people or games
  • Mock mistakes
  • Discourage new players or anyone with less experience from playing
  • Discriminate against or mistreat others
  • Dish out personal attacks on other people
  • Damage other peoples' stuff
  • Take pictures or record anyone without their explicit permission
  • Share or post any pictures or recordings without explicit permission from everyone featured
  • Send unsolicited pictures to other people
  • Keep pushing someone when they told you no
  • Harass others

Don't Disrespect the Game

  • Argue, rules-lawyer, trash talk, or gloat too much
  • Intentionally derail games or conversations
  • Rush other players
  • Intimidate or pressure other people
  • Take an unreasonable amount of time on your turn

Don't Disrespect the Room

  • Leave trash, game pieces, etc around the room
  • Have conversations best kept private in the room
  • Damage the coffeehouse's tables, chairs, floors, shelves, books, bathrooms, or anything else
